Silent Hill Titles Achieve Significant Sales Milestones, Prompting Deluxe Edition Discounts

Instructions

The revamped edition of Konami's renowned horror title, Silent Hill 2, has achieved a remarkable sales milestone, distributing over 5 million units across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. In recognition of this success, the publisher is extending promotional offers on the premium versions of both the Silent Hill 2 remake and last year's acclaimed Silent Hill f. These limited-time price reductions are available exclusively through the PlayStation Store as part of Konami's ongoing Spring Sale.

As part of Konami's Spring Sale, significant price reductions are being applied to the latest entries in the Silent Hill series. Shoppers can find discounts of up to half off, exclusively through the PlayStation Store. This promotional event is scheduled to conclude on March 26, at 2:59 a.m. EST. The sale includes the Deluxe Edition of Silent Hill f, now priced at $39.99 (originally $79.99), and the Deluxe Edition of Silent Hill 2, also available for $39.99 (originally $79.99). Additionally, a Dual Pack featuring both Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill f is on offer, with the Standard Edition priced at $59.99 (down from $99.99) and the Deluxe Edition at $71.99 (reduced from $119.99).

It is important to note that the individual standard editions of these games are not part of the current sale. The Deluxe Editions provide additional content such as digital art books, musical scores, and character outfits. For those primarily interested in the gameplay experience of both Silent Hill f and Silent Hill 2 without the supplementary items, the Standard Edition Dual Pack presents the most economical choice, effectively pricing each game at less than $30.

Konami initially announced five Silent Hill projects in 2022, which included the aforementioned Silent Hill 2 remake and Silent Hill f. The final game among these initial five, Silent Hill: Townfall, is anticipated to launch later this year for PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. In a December interview with Famitsu, the Japanese gaming weekly, series producer Motoi Okamoto expressed the development team's ambition to transform Silent Hill into an annual franchise starting from 2026, aiming to maintain continuous engagement with the series.

Okamoto stated that the goal is to release approximately one title per year, encompassing both announced and yet-to-be-revealed projects. He acknowledged the challenge of this objective but affirmed the team's commitment to achieving it as producers of the Silent Hill series. The overarching aspiration is to keep the discourse and excitement surrounding Silent Hill consistently high. With the Silent Hill 2 remake successfully exceeding the 5 million sales mark, it appears Konami is on a promising trajectory toward revitalizing the franchise.

The successful sales performance of Silent Hill 2, surpassing the five-million unit threshold, indicates a strong resurgence for the series. Konami's strategic discounts on the Deluxe Editions further incentivize player engagement and support their broader vision for an annual release schedule. This renewed focus suggests a vibrant future for the Silent Hill universe, potentially delighting long-time fans and attracting new players with a consistent stream of new content.
